Opentra
Changelog

What's new in Opentra.

You depend on this software to run your MSP. So every release gets real notes — what shipped, what changed, what got fixed.

1 June 2026

v2026.06.1 – .13
Added

Automated client follow-up reminders

Tickets waiting on a client no longer go quietly stale. Opentra now sends a polite follow-up, a second nudge, and a final notice before closing the ticket automatically — with the whole schedule (reminder spacing and close delay) configurable in Settings. Your techs stop playing calendar-cop and clients still get every chance to respond.

Added

Tickets auto-link to the right contract

Every new ticket — whether it arrives by email, from a monitoring alert, or is created by a tech — now automatically attaches to the client's active contract, preferring their managed-services agreement. Time logged on the ticket lands against the right agreement from the first minute, so month-end billing stops needing detective work.

Improvements and fixes (8)
  • Routine vendor noise is auto-closed at intake: monthly drive-health reports and junk-mail feedback reports never clutter your queue
  • Backup alert emails now route to the correct client via Microsoft 365 tenant-domain matching, with a per-company tenant field for exact routing
  • Emails forwarded inline by your staff (without the usual forward headers) now resolve to the actual client instead of the forwarder
  • Retainer and time & materials contracts now calculate monthly recurring value correctly, and it stays in sync as contract lines change
  • The dashboard’s average-response stat now excludes junk tickets, so it reflects real client response times
  • Product catalogue and software services now live together on one Products & Services page
  • Fixed dark-mode readability in the ticket conversation panel
  • Invoicing in AUD now uses a live USD→AUD exchange rate, refreshed weekly

v2026.05.29
Changed

Archive contacts from the company page

When someone leaves a client, you can now archive them right where you noticed — hover a contact row on the company page and Archive sits next to Edit. You land back on the same page with the list updated, instead of detouring through the contacts module.

v2026.05.25 – .27
Added

Cloud storage billing, on autopilot

If you resell cloud backup storage, Opentra now bills it for you. Set a base tier, a per-GB overage rate, and a Xero account code — and every billing run automatically adds a storage line for each client, priced from their actual usage. No more end-of-month storage spreadsheet.

Added

Backblaze B2 usage sync

Connect your Backblaze B2 account and Opentra pulls live bucket sizes itself — per client with one click, all clients at once, or automatically at the end of every month so the figures feeding your billing run are always current.

Improvements and fixes (1)
  • Company pages show a Cloud Storage card with the client’s bucket, current size, and estimated monthly charge — editable inline

21 May 2026

v2026.05.18 – .23
Added

Company Profile settings

One place for your business identity: name, ABN, contact details, structured address, and timezone, plus per-day business hours and a public holiday list with a one-click Australian preset. Quotes and PDFs pull from it automatically, so you stop re-typing your own address into forms.

Added

Email notifications, per event

Every notification event now has an Email toggle alongside the in-app one. Flip it on and the recipient gets an email — sent from your own Microsoft 365 mailbox — with a direct link back to the ticket. Off by default, so nobody's inbox gets flooded without you choosing it.

Improvements and fixes (4)
  • Enter device and software costs in US dollars — the local equivalent is calculated live at your configured exchange rate, and both figures are kept for reference
  • SMS from a ticket now works on manually created tickets too, and send failures are shown in the composer instead of vanishing silently
  • The system health page shows SMS status and the last message sent or received
  • Fixed email notifications that could fail silently when the mail service rejected a send

19 May 2026

v2026.05.16
Added

Devices in global search

The search palette now finds devices by name, hostname, serial number, or public IP — and takes you straight to the device page. When a client reads you a serial over the phone, you're on the right machine in seconds.

Improvements and fixes (3)
  • Alerts from RMM devices not yet linked to a client are now matched by their device group instead of being silently dropped
  • Device pages show far more alert history (50 entries, up from 10)
  • Fixed a broken link from alert details to the company page
