You already know the month-end run. You know your MSA clauses too, or you should, because 2026 is the year the gap between those two things starts to cost real money.
The underwriting problem nobody warned you about
Cyber-insurance analysts have spent 2026 flagging the same thing: MSP premiums are sitting above market because underwriters price aggregation risk. One MSP touches dozens of client environments, so one compromise can cascade into a claim across the whole book. When your MSA carries no liability cap, and a chunk of your clients do not carry their own cyber policy, the exposure lands on you and your E&O cover.
Most owners read that and think about their RMM or their remote-access tool. Fair. But there is a quieter aggregation target sitting in the middle of your business: your PSA.
Multi-tenant PSA is a shared blast radius
A multi-tenant SaaS PSA holds every client’s tickets, contracts, rate cards and billing history in one vendor-controlled system. That is convenient right up until it is not. From an underwriter’s view it is a single, concentrated target. A breach at that vendor does not touch one client, it potentially touches your entire client book at once, plus the commercial record of how you bill them.
You did not choose that concentration. It came bundled with the deployment model. And when the incident-response questionnaire asks where your operational client data lives, “a shared tenant we do not control” is not the answer that lowers your renewal.
What single-tenant actually changes
Opentra is self-hosted and single-tenant on purpose. Your PSA data lives on infrastructure you control, on your box or your cloud account. There is no shared vendor tenant pooling your client book with a hundred other MSPs, so a vendor’s shared-tenant breach cannot drag your whole book and your E&O exposure along with it.
This is the ownership pillar, not a marketing flourish. You can point an auditor at your own security posture instead of a vendor’s status page. If Opentra vanished tomorrow, nothing stops: you own the data and can export it.
And to be clear, this is PSA-only. We do not do RMM, and we do not touch your monitoring. Your monitoring stays yours. This is about where the system your work runs on, from first email to paid invoice, actually lives.
Flat pricing, no aggregation tax
Community is free to self-host forever. Pro is $149/mo flat, Opentra Cloud is $249/mo flat, both with unlimited techs and client orgs. No per-seat tax, and no shared tenant either.
